Hitting reset

I used to write extensive technical walkthroughs and tutorials to educate fellow developers and make it easier to adopt technologies I care about. This style of blogging is a time-consuming endeavour, as frameworks and libraries keep evolving, so each post requires constant maintenance to extend its shelf-life.

Recently, I’ve been struggling to find the time and motivation to maintain my blog series, let alone add new content. I struggled to find the time because between working on my startup, consulting work and open-source projects, there’s little time left in the day to work on anything else. More importantly, I struggled to find the motivation, because in this new era of LLMs, people are no longer reaching for tutorials to learn new things or searching for blog posts to figure out issues.

Going through my old blog posts, I realised that all of them would need significant investment to stay current and most covered ground an LLM now handles better. Tutorial content is now generated on demand, tailored to your use case, more current than anything I could maintain by hand.

So I hit the reset button and deleted the blog history. The machines won that market. I still plan to write here when I can, but the focus will shift to stuff I can offer a unique perspective on: the startup and open-source projects I’m building, the reasoning behind decisions I make, and the occasional disagreement with the popular answer.
